Nagal advances to second round, first Indian player to win main-draw match in Monte-Carlo
Sumit Nagal edged out Matteo Arnaldi 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 on Monday and will face No 7 seed Holger Rune in the next round

Indian qualifier Sumit Nagal edged out Italian Matteo Arnaldi 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Monday.
The third Indian player in the Open Era to play in the Monte-Carlo main draw, he is the first to record a match win there.
It is the third Top 50 win of his career, and he is now the first Indian man to win an ATP Masters 1000 match on clay since the series began in 1990.
Nagal, ranked No 93, will face No 7 seed Holger Rune next.
