Nadal and wife expecting first child, according to Spanish media reports
After back-to-back Grand Slam titles in 2022, there could be some more good news for Rafael Nadal – this time on the personal front
Rafael Nadal and wife María Francisca Perelló are expecting their first child, according to HOLA! magazine. Nadal, aged 36, and wife María, have been together for more than 15 years. The couple got engaged in January 2019 and got married in October that same year in a private ceremony at La Fortaleza in Mallorca.
There has been no official confirmation or denial of the reports from either Rafael Nadal or his wife as of yet but he was videoed taking congratulations from fans.
Even without the news of the reported pregnancy, it has been a busy time for Nadal in recent weeks. Between the rib injury that took him off the courts for six weeks to his foot injury which had to be anaesthetized for the French Open, the Spaniard captured his historic 14th Roland-Garros title earlier this month.
Following that, he underwent treatment on his foot in order to get ready for Wimbledon and practiced on grass for the first time since then in Mallorca on Monday.
This week, it was also announced that the Balearic government has decided to honour Nadal in a ceremony that takes place today.
The Spaniard will be felicitated in Mallorca by Francina Armengol, the president of the Balearic Islands where a grand ceremony will be organized to celebrate his record-breaking career achievements.
