Murray was playing his first tournament since Miami due to an ankle injury
Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka‘s French Open preparations suffered a blow on Thursday with both the three-time Grand Slam champions getting knocked out of the ATP Bordeaux Challenger in the second round.
Murray, playing with a new racquet, was competing for the first time since Miami due to an ankle injury. The 37-year-old Brit won his first-round match on Wednesday but was defeated by Frenchman Gregoire Barrere 6-4, 6-2. He will now head to Geneva for the ATP 250 event next week prior to Roland-Garros
39-year-old Wawrinka, a former French Open champion, took his clay record to 2-4 this season as he went down to Pedro Martinez 6-4, 6-4.
