Munich Open: Struff defeats Auger-Aliassime to make semi-finals after rain delay
Jan-Lennard Struff beat Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-5, 6-4 on Saturday. He’ll play Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, in the next round
German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 4 seed, advanced to the last four of the Munich Open by defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 6-4 at the MTTC Iphitos complex.
Struff, ranked No 28, will face Dane Holger Rune, the second seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 33-year-old German won against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (7-6, 6-4).
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 34, edged out German Maximilian Marterer (6-7 (5), 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3)) and beat Japanese Taro Daniel (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
