American Alex Michelsen moved into the second round of the Munich Open by defeating German wildcard Max Hans Rehberg 7-6 (2), 6-3 at the MTTC Iphitos complex.
Michelsen, ranked No 70, will play the winner of the match between Chilean Cristian Garin and German Dominik Koepfer, the No 7 seed, next.
