Casper Ruud beat Alex Molcan 7-6 (3), 6-3 on Wednesday evening. He’ll play the winner of the match between American Jenson Brooksby and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 14 seed, in the next round
Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 4 seed, beat Slovak Alex Molcan 7-6 (3), 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Wednesday evening.
Ruud, ranked No 7, will play the winner of the match between American Jenson Brooksby and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 14 seed, next.
The 23-year-old improves to 36-13 on the season – he reached the quarter-finals in his only previous appearance in Canada on his National Bank Open debut in 2021.
In the previous round of the Coupe Rogers, Molcan, ranked No 42, won against American Mackenzie McDonald (7-6 (1), 6-4).
