De Minaur advances to last 16, setting clash with compatriot Kyrgios in Montreal
Alex De Minaur defeated Grigor Dimitrov 7-6 (4), 7-5 on Wednesday evening and will face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the next round
Australian Alex De Minaur moved into the last 16 of the Montreal Masters by beating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, 7-6 (4), 7-5 at Stade IGA on Wednesday evening.
De Minaur, ranked No 21, will play Australian Nick Kyrgios next. The pair are great friends and Davis Cup teammates, and have never competed against each other on the ATP Tour.
In the previous round of the Coupe Rogers, the Australian won against Canadian Denis Shapovalov (7-5, 7-6 (4)).
Dimitrov, ranked No 19, defeated Canadian wildcard Alexis Galarneau (6-4, 7-5) in the first round of the Coupe Rogers.
