Montreal Masters: Tabilo untroubled by Sonego

Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 15 seed, beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Thursday.

Tabilo, ranked No 21, will face Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, next.

In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, the Chilean won against American Frances Tiafoe (6-4, 6-2).

Sonego, ranked No 57, edged out Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (7-6 (7), 5-7, 6-4) in the previous round of the Rogers Cup.
