Montreal Masters: Rinderknech eases past Cobolli to reach last 16
Arthur Rinderknech beat Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-2 and will play the winner of the match between Thanasi Kokkinakis and Hubert Hurkacz in the next round
French qualifier Arthur Rinderknech defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-2 to move into the last 16 of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA.
Rinderknech, ranked No 65, will play the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 4 seed, next.
The Frenchman edged out Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, Cobolli, ranked No 33, won against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 14 seed (6-3, 6-2).
