Norrie beats Nakashima to advance at National Bank Open
In a battle between former college tennis stars, Cameron Norrie gets the best of Brandon Nakashima on Tuesday in Montreal. Norrie awaits either Botic van de Zandschulp or Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round.

Cameron Norrie missed out on a first-round bye at the National Bank Open by just a single ranking spot, but he still finds himself safely into the last 32. Norrie won his opening match at the Montreal Masters on Tuesday night, beating Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 13 minutes.
Thus continues a run of fine form for the world No 11, who reached the Wimbledon semi-finals and recently finished runner-up to Daniil Medvedev in Los Cabos.
Next up for Norrie is either Botic van de Zandschulp or Miomir Kecmanovic.
