Montreal Masters: Nishikori advances to last 16, upsets Tsitsipas
Kei Nishikori won against Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday and will face Nuno Borges next
Japanese Kei Nishikori reached the last 16 of the Montreal Masters by producing a stunning win against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at Stade IGA on Thursday afternoon.
It represents Nishikori’s first win vs a top 20 player in over three years, and will surely provide a confidence boost to the former major finalist. Additionally, the Japanese is also the third lowest ranked player to qualify for fourth round of a Masters 1000:

In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, the 34-year-old Japanese edged out American Alex Michelsen (3-6, 7-5, 6-4).
