Hubert Hurkacz edged out Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-7 (6), 6-2, 7-6 (3) on Thursday evening and will play the winner of the match between Nick Kyrgios and Alex De Minaur in the next round
Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 8 seed, edged out Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-7 (6), 6-2, 7-6 (3) to advance to the quarter-finals of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Thursday evening.
Hurkacz, ranked No 10, will face the winner of the match between Nick Kyrgios and Alex De Minaur next.
Ahead of his victory, the Pole defeated Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-2).
Ramos-Vinolas, ranked No 43, won against Belgian wildcard David Goffin (7-6 (2), 6-2) and Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, the No 12 seed (6-4, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
