Montreal Masters: Draper moves into last 16 defeating seed No3 Tsitsipas !!

Qualifier Jack Draper defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 3 seed, 7-5, 7-6 (4) to move into the last 16 of the Montreal Masters on Wednesday night.

This is the third massive upset in the men’s draw at the Canadian Open after Daniil Medvedev’s and Carlos Alcaraz’ loss earlier Wednesday.

This is the first time since Indian Wells in 1999 that a Masters 1000 loses his first three seeds at the first round.

Tsitsipas had a 3-1 lead in the second set but he couldn’t avoid the result, the first win by Draper over a Top 10 player. Draper, ranked No 82, will play Frenchman Gael Monfils, the No 17 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Coupe Rogers, Jack Draper won against French qualifier Hugo Gaston (6-2, 6-3).
