Atlanta finalist Brooksby beats Bublik in Montreal opener

American Jenson Brooksby reached the second round of the National Bank Open by beating Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik 6-2, 6-3 at Stade IGA on Monday evening.
Brooksby, ranked No 46, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 14 seed, and American qualifier Marcos Giron. That was delayed by rain until Tuesday with Bautista Agut leading by a set.
