Italian Jannik Sinner, the second seed, won the Montpellier Open trophy by defeating American Maxime Cressy 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Sud de France Arena on Sunday.
Earlier in the tournament, Sinner, ranked No 17, beat Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (W/O), Lorenzo Sonego (6-4, 6-2) and French wildcard Arthur Fils (7-5, 6-2).
Cressy, ranked No 51, defeated Swiss qualifier Antoine Bellier (6-3, 6-2), Finn Emil Ruusuvuori, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-4), Croat Borna Coric, the No 3 seed (7-6 (2), 6-4) and Dane Holger Rune, the top seed (7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4)) in the previous rounds of the Montpellier tournament.
