Jesper De Jong won against No 5 seed Tallon Griekspoor 7-6 (5), 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals of the Montpellier Open at the Sud de France Arena on Friday evening.
De Jong, ranked No 131, will play Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the second seed, next.
Jesper De Jong benefited from the abandonment of French wildcard Quentin Halys (7-6 (7), 2-0) and defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli, the No 3 seed (6-3, 7-6 (2)) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Montpellier tournament, Griekspoor, ranked No 46, won against Botic Van De Zandschulp (7-5, 6-3) and edged out Frenchman Richard Gasquet (6-3, 3-6, 7-5).
