Montpellier Open: Auger-Aliassime into semi-finals
Felix Auger-Aliassime won against Harold Mayot 7-5, 6-1 on Friday evening and will play second seed Alexander Bublik in the next round
Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 3 seed, reached the last 4 of the Montpellier Open by winning against French wildcard Harold Mayot 7-5, 6-1 at the Sud de France Arena on Friday evening.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 30, will play second seed Alexander Bublik next in what will be his 26th tour-level semi-final, and his first since winning the Basel title in October last year.
In the previous round of the Montpellier tournament, the Canadian edged out Frenchman Arthur Cazaux (7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (4)).
Mayot, ranked No 144, defeated wildcard Lucas Pouille (6-4, 7-5) and Benoit Paire (6-1, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
