Rublev wins all-Russian battle with Khachanov to reach Monte-Carlo quarter-finals
Andrey Rublev beat Karen Khachanov 7-6 (4), 6-2 on Thursday afternoon. He’ll play German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff in the next round
Fifth seed Andrey Rublev won against No 9 seed Karen Khachanov 7-6 (4), 6-2 to reach the last eight of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
Rublev, ranked No 6, will play German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff next.
Rublev beat Spaniard Jaume Munar (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds, Khachanov, ranked No 12, won against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-2, 6-2) and Belarusian qualifier Ilya Ivashka (7-6 (2), 6-2).
