Monte-Carlo Masters: Dimitrov through to last 16

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 9 seed, defeated Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco on Thursday.

The match was held over from Wednesday due to rain with Dimitrov leading 6-4, 2-1 against Kecmanovic.

Dimitrov, ranked No 9 and a runner-up in Miami recently, will face the winner of the match between Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed, and Indian qualifier Sumit Nagal next.

The Bulgarian defeated wildcard Valentin Vacherot (7-5, 6-2) in the previous round of the tournament.

Earlier in the week, Kecmanovic, ranked No 66, won against Italian wildcard Matteo Berrettini (6-3, 6-1).
