Croat Borna Coric comprehensively defeated Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 16 seed, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club.

Coric, ranked No 32, will play German Jan-Lennard Struff next.
