Frenchman Gael Monfils has enjoyed some of his greatest moments on indoor hard courts and the 35-year-old is looking good again, into the second round of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna.
Monfils, who has won seven of his 10 career titles indoors, took out the talented Italian, Lorenzo Musetti, 7-6 (2), 6-4, setting up a second-round clash with eighth-seed Diego Schwartzman.
Schwartzman booked his spot in round two with victory over another Italian, seeing off Fabio Fognini, 6-2, 7-5.
