Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry beat Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov 6-2, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Miami Masters at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night.
Etcheverry, ranked No 73, will play No 14 seed Karen Khachanov next.
