Miami Masters: Ruud untroubled by Davidovich Fokina
Casper Ruud won against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday night and will face the winner of the match between Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 22 seed, and Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild in the next round
Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 7 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Miami Masters by winning against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 27 seed, 6-3, 6-4 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night.
Ruud, ranked No 8, will play the winner of the match between Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 22 seed, and Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild next.
In the previous round of the Miami Open, the Norwegian beat Frenchman Luca Van Assche (7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-1).
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 28, defeated Chinese wildcard Juncheng Shang (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Miami Open.
