Miami Open: Popyrin advances after Mikael Ymer retires with ankle injury
Alexei Popyrin benefited from the abandonment of Mikael Ymer (7-6 (5), 4-4) on Wednesday evening. He’ll face No 26 seed Botic Van De Zandschulp in the next round

Australian Alexei Popyrin reached the second round of the Miami Masters when Swede Mikael Ymer retired at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Popyrin, ranked No 93, led 7-6 (5), 4-4 when Ymer, ranked No 53, pulled out at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Australian will play No 26 seed Botic Van De Zandschulp next.
