Miami Masters: Paul beats Spaniard for 12th time in a row, could run into Alcaraz in fourth round

American Tommy Paul, the No 16 seed, moved into the fourth round of the Miami Masters by winning against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 20 seed, 6-3, 7-5 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.
This was the American’s 12th win over a Spaniard in the last 12 matches
Paul, ranked No 19, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the world No 1 and top seed, and Serb Dusan Lajovic next.
In the previous round of the tournament, the American edged out Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (5-7, 6-3, 6-4).
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 25 in the world, beat American Brandon Nakashima (6-4, 7-6 (5)) in the second round of the Miami Open.
