‘I’m usually asleep at midnight!’ Medvedev advances to quarter-final v qualifier Eubanks despite rain delay
Daniil Medvedev defeated Quentin Halys 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday and will face American qualifier Christopher Eubanks in the next round
Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 4 seed, reached the last eight of the Miami Masters by winning against Frenchman Quentin Halys 6-4, 6-2 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday night.
Medvedev, ranked No 5, will play American qualifier Christopher Eubanks next.
The Russian beat Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-1, 6-2) and Slovak Alex Molcan (W/O) ahead of his victory.
Medvedev commented afterwards that it had been a challenging match due to the rain delay meaning it took place much later than expected.
