Miami Masters: Jarry upsets Ruud to reach quarter-finals

Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 22 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Miami Masters by beating Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 7 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday.
Jarry, ranked No 23, will face Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, next.
The Chilean edged out Jack Draper (7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (2)) and won against Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild (6-7 (1), 7-5, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Miami Open, Ruud, ranked No 8, defeated Frenchman Luca Van Assche (7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-1) and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 27 seed (6-3, 6-4).
