Miami Masters: Impressive Arnaldi moves past Fils with ease

Italian Matteo Arnaldi advanced to the second round of the Miami Masters by beating Frenchman Arthur Fils 6-3, 6-4 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday night.

Arnaldi dropped just eight points on serve across the entire match in what was an impressive performance from the young Italian. He improves to 8-7 this year, having already beaten world No 10 Taylor Fritz and taken sets off the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton and Alex de Minaur in recent weeks.

Arnaldi, ranked No 38, will play No 17 seed Alexander Bublik next.
