Miami Masters: Daniel through to second round after Rinderknech retirement, gets Zverev next
Taro Daniel benefited from the retirement of Arthur Rinderknech (4-1) on Wednesday and will play No 13 seed Alexander Zverev in the next round
Japanese wildcard Taro Daniel advanced to the second round of the Miami Masters when Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech retired on Wednesday at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Daniel, ranked No 97, led 4-1 when Rinderknech, ranked No 72, pulled out on Wednesday evening at the Hard Rock Stadium.
The Japanese will play No 13 seed Alexander Zverev next.
