Argentinian Facundo Bagnis edged out Brazilian qualifier Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Miami Masters at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday.
Bagnis, ranked No 100, will play top seed Carlos Alcaraz next.
