Nakashima holds off Altmaier to advance in Acapulco
Brandon Nakashima beat Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 on Tuesday night in Acapulco. Nakashima is in the section of the draw vacated by Carlos Alcaraz.

American Brandon Nakashima advanced to the second round of the Mexican Open by defeating Germany’s Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the Princess Mundo Imperial in Acapulco on Tuesday.
Nakashima, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Italian lucky loser Luciano Darderi and American Mackenzie McDonald next. It is a good opportunity for all of those players, as top seed Carlos Alcaraz withdrew following the Rio Open and was replaced by Darderi.
