Mexican Open: Kecmanovic beats Schwartzman to reach second round
The Serb will face the winner of the match between top seed Alexander Zverev and Daniel Altmaier in the next round
Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic moved into the second round of the Mexican Open by winning against Argentinian wildcard Diego Schwartzman 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 at the Princess Mundo Imperial Resort in Acapulco on Tuesday.
The loss was the sixth in a row on the tour for Schwartzman, whose only win this year has come in the first round of qualifying for Brisbane. The Argentine’s last ATP main draw win came in Tokyo in October 2023.
Kecmanovic, ranked No 53, will play the winner of the match between top seed Alexander Zverev and Daniel Altmaier next.
