Metz Open: Shevchenko through to second round
Alexander Shevchenko won against Mathias Bourgue 6-4, 7-5 on Monday afternoon. He’ll face the winner of the match between German Daniel Altmaier and Hungarian lucky loser Mate Valkusz in the next round

Russian Alexander Shevchenko defeated French qualifier Mathias Bourgue 6-4, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Metz Open at Arènes de Metz on Monday.
Shevchenko, ranked No 63, will play the winner of the match between German Daniel Altmaier and Hungarian lucky loser Mate Valkusz next.
