American Sebastian Korda advanced to the last eight of the Metz Open by defeating Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 3 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (6) at Arènes de Metz on Wednesday evening.
Korda, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Sonego and French wildcard Gilles Simon next.
The 22-year-old American won against Frenchman Hugo Gaston (6-3, 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Metz.
