Metz Open: Humbert reaches last four
Ugo Humbert won against Harold Mayot 6-3, 7-5 on Thursday evening. He’ll face the winner of the match between wildcard Fabio Fognini and No 6 seed Lorenzo Sonego in the next round

No 4 seed Ugo Humbert reached the semi-finals of the Metz Open by beating qualifier Harold Mayot 6-3, 7-5 at Arènes de Metz on Thursday evening.
Humbert, ranked No 23, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Fabio Fognini and No 6 seed Lorenzo Sonego next.
In the previous round of the Metz tournament, Ugo Humbert won against Austrian Dominic Thiem (7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3).
Mayot, ranked No 176, edged out Japanese Yosuke Watanuki (6-4, 1-6, 6-4) and Gregoire Barrere (7-6 (2), 2-6, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.
