Chinese Yunchaokete Bu reached the last eight of the Metz Open by beating Dutch qualifier Jesper de Jong 6-4, 7-6 (1) at the Arènes de Metz on Wednesday evening.
Bu, ranked No 72, will face American Alex Michelsen, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 22-year-old Chinese won against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (7-6 (4), 6-4).
