Daniil Medvedev, the top seed, advanced to the final of Halle by beating German Oscar Otte 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Saturday afternoon.
Medvedev, ranked world No 1, will play the winner of the match between Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 5 seed, and Australian wildcard Nick Kyrgios next.
Ahead of his victory, the Russian won against Belgian David Goffin (6-3, 6-2), Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (7-6 (4), 6-3) and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 7 seed (6-2, 6-4).
Otte, ranked No 51, won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (7-6 (5), 6-4), Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili (4-6, 6-0, 7-6 (3)) and Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 8 seed (4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
