Marseille Open: Zhang books spot in quarter-finals, beats Auger-Aliassime in straight sets

China’s Zhizhen Zhang advanced to the quarter-finals of the Marseille Open by defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at the Palais des sports on Thursday afternoon.
Zhang, ranked No 50, will play Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed, next.
The Chinese edged out Italian lucky loser Giulio Zeppieri (6-7 (7), 6-1, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Marseille tournament, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 28, won against French wildcard Quentin Halys (6-2, 7-5).
