Marseille Open: Van Assche advances to second round

Lucky loser Luca Van Assche moved into the second round of the Marseille Open by edging out Benjamin Bonzi 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7) at the Palais des sports on Tuesday.

Van Assche, ranked No 164, will play Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 7 seed, next.
