Marseille Open: Struff reaches quarter-finals

German Jan-Lennard Struff advanced to the quarter-finals of the Marseille Open by edging out French qualifier Hugo Grenier 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 at the Palais des sports on Thursday evening.

Struff, ranked No 46, will play Russian Daniil Medvedev, the top seed, next.

The 34-year-old German defeated French lucky loser Manuel Guinard (7-5, 7-6 (4)) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Marseille tournament, Grenier, ranked No 202, won against qualifier Arthur Gea (7-5, 6-4).
