No 7 seed Richard Gasquet edged out qualifier Laurent Lokoli 7-6 (5), 2-6, 7-6 (5) to move into the second round of the Marseille Open at the Palais des sports de Marseille on Tuesday evening.
Gasquet, ranked No 43, will face Swiss Stan Wawrinka next.
