Marseille Open: Davidovich Fokina makes last eight

Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 5 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Marseille Open by winning against Finn Emil Ruusuvuori 6-3, 7-5 at the Palais des sports on Thursday.
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 24, will face No 4 seed Ugo Humbert next.
The Spaniard edged out Frenchman Gregoire Barrere (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Marseille tournament.
In the previous round of the Marseille tournament, Ruusuvuori, ranked No 55, defeated Frenchman Luca Van Assche (7-6 (2), 6-4).
