Marseille Open: Bergs through to semi-finals as Zhang retires with injury

Belgian Zizou Bergs advanced to the semi-finals of the Marseille Open when Chinese Zhizhen Zhang retired at the Palais des sports.
Bergs, ranked No 62, led 7-5 when Zhang, ranked No 52, pulled out on Friday at the Palais des sports.
The Belgian will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 7 seed, and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the second seed, next.
Zizou Bergs won against French qualifier Clement Chidekh (6-4, 6-4) and Portuguese Nuno Borges, the No 8 seed (6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Marseille tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, the Chinese edged out Frenchman Quentin Halys (6-3, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3)) and beat Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-7 (1), 6-3).
