Italian Francesco Passaro won against Russian Aslan Karatsev (photo), 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Marrakech Open at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Monday.
Passaro, ranked No 115, will face the winner of the match between Alexandre Muller and No 6 seed Richard Gasquet next.
