Mallorca Open: Safiullin opens Mallorca campaign with win over Shelbayh

Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin advanced to the second round of the Mallorca Open by winning against Jordanian qualifier Abdullah Shelbayh 6-1, 6-4 at Mallorca Country Club.

Safiullin, ranked No 94, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, the No 7 seed, and South African qualifier Lloyd Harris next.
