American Alex Michelsen advanced to the second round of the Mallorca Open by winning against Portuguese Nuno Borges 6-3, 7-6 (4) at Mallorca Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
Michelsen, ranked No 61, will face No 3 seed Adrian Mannarino next.
