Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp advanced to the second round of the Madrid Masters by beating American Christopher Eubanks 6-3, 6-3 at the Caja Magica.
Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 115, will play No 13 seed Ugo Humbert next.
