Ruud notches 30th win, defeating Kecmanovic in Madrid

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 5 seed, moved into the third round of the Madrid Masters by defeating Serb Miomir Kecmanovic 6-4, 6-1 at the Caja Magica on Saturday evening.

The Norwegian, last week’s champion in Barcelona, stretched his winning streak to seven matches and became the first player on tour to record 30 match wins in 2024.

Ruud, ranked No 6, will face No 29 seed Cameron Norrie next.

In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, Kecmanovic, ranked No 66, won against Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (6-3, 6-2).
