Madrid Masters: O’Connell battles past Krajinovic
Christopher O’Connell won against Filip Krajinovic 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2 on Thursday and will face No 8 seed Taylor Fritz in the next round

Australian Christopher O’Connell reached the second round of the Madrid Masters by defeating Serb Filip Krajinovic 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2 at the Caja Magica on Thursday.
O’Connell, ranked No 81, will play No 8 seed Taylor Fritz next.
The Aussie has now won four of five on the clay after upsetting Alexander Zverev en route to the semi-finals last week at Munich.
