Madrid Masters: Nishioka books spot in third round
Yoshihito Nishioka edged out Alex Molcan 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 on Friday. He’ll face the winner of the match between Swiss Stan Wawrinka and Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, in the next round
Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 28 seed, edged out Slovak Alex Molcan 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the third round of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Magica on Friday.
Nishioka, ranked No 34, will play the winner of the match between Swiss Stan Wawrinka and Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, Molcan, ranked No 58, won against Chinese Yibing Wu (6-2, 6-4).
